About Hasti

In 2013, I embarked on a journey to Australia to pursue studies in literary and cultural studies and creative writing. As a migrant living between two worlds, I relive my life in Iran through connections with family and loved ones while simultaneously embracing the diverse experiences of life in Australia. Despite the challenges of being away from my loved ones and the loss of precious belongings and memories, being a migrant has gifted me with new perspectives that have profoundly transformed my understanding of life.
As an immigrant and creative writer, my reflective research focuses on the subjective, lived experiences of individual perspectives and emotions, exploring the quest for identity among those navigating multiple cultural contexts. In my writings, I examine themes of migration and the remaking of self through critical reflection and creative expression. I am particularly interested in how living between cultures shapes self-perception and the process of reconnecting, both through writing and the endeavor to transcend social conventions.
