About Hasti

In 2013, I began a journey to Australia to pursue studies in literary and cultural studies. As a migrant living between two worlds, I continuously revisit my life in Iran through bonds with family and loved ones while embracing the rich and diverse experiences of life in Australia. Although the distance from loved ones and the loss of cherished belongings and memories have been difficult, migration has given me new perspectives that have deeply reshaped my understanding of life.
As an immigrant and creative writer, my reflective research focuses on the lived and subjective experiences of individuals, exploring their emotions, identities, and inner transformations, especially among those navigating multiple cultural landscapes. In my writing, I explore themes of migration, belonging, cross-cultural experience, and the ongoing remaking of the self through critical reflection and creative expression. I am particularly interested in how living between cultures influences self-perception and the journey of reconnection, both through storytelling and the effort to move beyond social conventions.
Above all, I am drawn to the everyday lives of people, their quiet struggles, fleeting joys, intimate connections, persistent hopes, and the many ways they give and receive love.
